Fitting 7Gb movie onto DVD

I have a 7Gb AVI movie that I want to fit onto a single 4.7Gb DVD.

After selecting Render As.., and choosing the DVD NTSC () template, I get a superb result after 5-hours.

Is there a way to (a) get an ESTIMATE of the resulting file size (b) Change various options in order to JUST fit into 4.7Gb? I don't want to spend 5-hours each time testing a few changes.

Regards,
Ian

You can do the math in your head. Just divide 600 by the number of minutes of the avi; the result is the overall average bitrate you need to shoot for. Subtract .2Mb/sec for AC-3 audio, or 1.5Mb/sec for PCM audio. Done.
