Fix for poor Cineform playback on Vegas Pro 9.0

It doesn't seem to have been announced here officially by Sony* as far as I can see so perhaps people are not aware that a fix has been released (in advance of V.9.0a) for the poor playback problem (very low framerates) that affected Cinescore files when displayed at other than full resolution. It takes the form of a replacement aviplug.dll. Details available in the knowledgebase.

I don't have a machine fast enough to put V9 on yet (got one coming soon) so I can't test it myself really, but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has tried it and found that it does indeed solve the Cineform problem (or not, as the case may be).

Mark

*It was mentioned by David@Cineform in one of his messages here but it may have gone unnoticed by many as it was buried deep in a very long thread that probably not everybody would have been interested in.

Yes, it fixes the problem for 32 bit Vegas Pro 9.

Thanks. Missed that.

Missed that also. Geez... thought there might have been more pomp/circumstance on this, seeing how it was quite an issue not too long ago. So far, it seems to have fixed things.

I can confirm that CineForm previews at a an excellent speed with this fix. Full speed and the dual processors now only hit 6% when playing. Also stopped the excessive page file hits. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks CineForm and Sony!

Not really straight to this topic but has somebody managed to get Neoplayer working with Vista 32-bit and Vegas9?

I'd like to use Cineform avis on laptop when travelling (files converted at home with NeoScene). But somehow my Vegas crashes all the time when trying to open it with Neoplayer installed. I tried with trial NeoScene also but no luck, codecs vill screw with Vegas I guess.
