Flicker in rendered avi file

I am working on a short presentation that includes captured MiniDV video, gif and jpeg graphics, and screen captures using Camtasia set to capture as avi. Initially Camtasia was set at 4fps, but those sections flickered badly when rendered in Vegas. We recaptured the screen shot at 30fps (Camtasia would not let us capture at Vegas' 29.97fps) and still it flickers when rendered. Capturing with Camtasia is necessary because we are trying to demonstrate an online registration process by capturing on-screen keystrokes and mouse movements. Does anyone have any ideas as to what would cause the flicker and how to prevent it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

don't know why it would be flickering (unless it's a progressive/interlace thing) but it would probley be easier to use an s-video out from a video card & record that onti miniDv, then capture that in Vegas.

It would eliminate a lot of possible causes for the problem.

This could also be an NTSC/PAL issue.
