I have a clip where I have "frozen" a frame. All is fine when viewing the rendered project on my computer, but when I view it on my TV the frozen frame isn't frozen: it jumps around a bit, like I've seen when pausing a VCR tape and the image doesn't stay still. I'm wondering what might cause this?
Here are the specifics:
I rendered the project to an NTSC .avi file. I view the file in Windows Media Player and all is fine. I then print-to-tape using MovieStudio. I my camcorder into my TV and view the movie, and this is when I see the flicker.
The flickering image in question is of a child jumping into a pool. The frame is a single frame from captured DV tape, NOT from a digital camera. No checkered shirts or anything like what I've seen mentioned in past posts.
The technique I used to do the freeze frame in MovieStudio is as follows: Drop the clip on the timeline of the kid jumping in the pool. Find the frame to be frozen, and use the "floppy disk" icon in the preview pane to capture the freeze frame. Split the video event at the frame in question, then drop in the .jpg image that was created using the floppy disk icon.
Again, the freeze frame looks fine in the rendered .avi, but it jumps when seen on the TV.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
