I guess my comment about the quality was for colors and some dropped frames. I didnt like the colors compared to original VHS movie. I found the convereted one very pale with faded colors. I heard a lot about Canopus but I am not sure that I want to spend $500 to convert one video. Does any one knows of any service like that in Toronto to convert it for me

Also, Is the 6GB normal for the 2.5 hours and should I try to get it converted in chunks say 30 min each to enhance the editing

No, 6GB is WAY too small for DV files, you should be more like 30 gigs for 2.5 hours. What are you capturing with? Figure 13 gig an hour...I don't know of services in Toronto, sorry. Maybe Tom Pauncz or one of the other Toronto-ites can help out.

If you are getting dropped frames, defrag your hard drive and turn off any background programs like anti-virus etc.
