First off, I am still very new to any version of Vegas as I have only been editing with the software about a month. I have a XPPro HP 8400 Workstation QuadCore machine with 8bg of RAM. Sadly, I was having about 4 or 5 instances a day when Vegas would completely lockup. This would usually happen when I would have a couple of instances of Vegas open at the same time each taking up approximately a GB of RAM.
I haven't had a single crash now for 2 days and I think I have to attribute it making some changes in my task manager settings. I changed the priorty setting on Vegas to "high" and pretty much left everything else where it was. The only exception is that I also raised my Explorer setting to "above normal" because I was having hangs even with Explorer.
I realize this may be a patch job on a bigger problem but it sure has been smooth sailing the last couple of days./ I am not a tech geek so keep that in consideration.
I should also add that this is not related to the render crash problems mentioned in an earlier thread. I'm still editing product and haven't gotten around to any serious rendering yet.
