Thought this may be helpful to someone... All in one concise message...

Final settings transfer steps:

**********************************
************To Export:************
**********************************

A.) Export the following three (3) registry keys from the registry.

1.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DXTransform\Presets
2.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DirectShow\Presets
3.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Media Software\Vegas\5.0\Metrics\Plug-In Manager.1

(If trying to import to a dual-boot system (Another OS): Change the "serial #'s" in the WinXP partition key exported files to the actual serial #'s in the other partition for registry key #3. Essentially, you will have 2 (different) copies of key #3.)

-------------------------------------------------
Example:
-------------------------------------------------
WinXP, #3 Exported key:

From: S-1-5-21-1060284298-920026266-682003330-1003

To: S-1-5-21-790525478-1123561945-839522115-1003
-------------------------------------------------

Then all 3 registry keys import OK upon restore. You will be warned if they do not import OK. If the "serial #'s" are not changed on key #3, it will not import.

B.) Backup the registry key-looking directories from:

C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 5.0\Presets\FX Packages
**********************************
************To Import:************
**********************************

1.) Restore the registry key-looking directories to:

C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 5.0\Presets\FX Packages
(Note: If this is the first time using presets on this install of Vegas, you may need to create the directories, "Presets" and "FX Packages").

2.) Import keys #1 and #2.

3.) Now, import the serial-number-modified-key #3.

That's it.
