For those of you with unsupported drives or desire for CD-TEXT

I too had that problem when I upgraded my CD-R drive
several months ago. Obviously, I still wanted to use CD
Architect for its visual PQ editing. However, as a side
issue of my new recorder, I also wanted to be able to write
CD-TEXT information. So, I wrote a small program
called "pre" that takes a CDA wav image file and generates
a CDRWIN (which has much better drive support) .cue file
with all pq information intact (no ISRC yet). This also
includes track names as specified in CDA. If anyone has
interest in pre, let me know and I'll post a link.

Please do post a link....I just wrote SF telling them that this is
what they should do. Just make it so CD Architect can write a CD
Image to your hard drive, that can be recognized by other 3rd party
software companies like Adaptec, Cdrwin, and Nero, which all have very
good driver support.

Colin,

I downloaded the program you mentioned, but I do not know
how to use it.

I understand that CD text is put into the subcode section R-
W of the lead in.

This is where I get lost. The program I downloaded prompts
me for four pieces of information:

1. Enter master wave name
2. Enter output cue sheet name
3. Enter disc title
4. Enter performer name

Entries 1, 3 and 4 appear as text inside the file inside
quotation marks. Entry #1 adds WAVE after the final
quotation mark. Entry #2 will appear as the name of the
file.

My questions are (in reference to CD Architect as the
program to write to a CDR):

A. How do I incorporate this program into CD Architect so
it’ll write CD text?

B. What is the “master” wave name? Is this the image file
made from the project? If so, then would the complete file
name be used? If so, then wave file ABCDEF.WAV would be
entered as such, and then it would appear as
FILE “ABCDEF.WAV” WAVE as the third entry inside this file.

C. Entry #2 prompts me to enter the output cue sheet name.
Is the cue sheet the file that will be made from this
program (the name of which will be the information entered
in #2 above), or does CD Architect create a cue sheet when
it writes a CD?

D. How are multiple tracks made? Will this program have be
run for each track? What will distinguish it from other
tracks (there is nothing that will identify track numbers)?

Thank you
