Foreign Transaction Fee when buying from Magix and how to avoid fee

I upgraded to Movie Studio for $89.99 and was charged an addition $1.79. for Foreign Transaction Fee. This seems to be charged by my credit card (3%) for dealing with a foreign bank (Magix in Germany) even though it is listed as Magix - Reno. I searched and found that only a few cards do not charge this fee. Capitol One and Discover are the few that don't. So if you are using a credit card to make your Magix purchase, be aware of this fee and select your credit card accordingly. If you got charged this fee, you might be able to get it reversed by calling your credit card. Check your credit card statement.

In the UK, a couple of credit cards that do not charge a "non-Sterling transaction fee" are the Halifax Clarity card and the Aquacard. It takes some time to build up a reasonable credit limit on the latter because their core market seems to be people with poor credit ratings.
