Format/codec for gh5 and vegas pro 17

Good morning everyone !

If everything works out, I should own a functioning gh5 by tomorrow. So I'm wondering what format/codec am I able to use with it (I couldn't find the complete format list anywhere). Can I shoot with a format that Vegas 17 timeline won't have a hard time reading. I know "intermediate 422hq" works well, but I'm not sure the gh5 has it.

I have not yet decided if I will be using these huge 400mbit codecs and convert them later to "intermediate 422hq" in order to be able for instance to add colour correction (I will have to learn how to do that btw).

I think the camera can shoot 6k but I'm not sure, and I don't think my computer will appreciate that kind of incredible load. I have 96gb of computer ram on my pc though.

I usually render in 1080p but with the gh5 I might consider rendering in 1440p even 2160p. Proxys will probably be needed for the timeline (again need to learn to use them).

I received the camera today, it seems to work. I'm trying to see what codecs and formats are available, it seems there aren't so many. The choice might not be as hard as I though it would be.

The basic 8 bit 150mbps mp4 formats work great and looks fantastic with a good sharp lens. If you are new to the camera, I suggest you start with these, rather than dealing with technically more troublesome 10 bit, 400 Mb/s or "open gate" (5.5 K) footage types.

10 bit from the GH5 (or other Panny cams like the S1) works fine in Vegas, but the performance will be slower, so you'll need proxies in most cases, especially when editing multicamera.
