Former Cinestream user - basic questions

Hello!

I just started using VV4, having formerly been a commited Cinestream user. After losing a few important projects in Cinestream due to bugs that just aren't going to be fixed, I'm glad I made the move to VV4. It certainly does feel nice to be working with a "modern" program and I can certainly say that compared to Cinestream, NLE has come a long way. Don't want to knock Cinestream too much, as I love the simplicity of the program, so here's my first VV question.

In Cinestream I was used to marking in and out points of a large file and then saving a copy of the marked take as a new file under a new name. This might be too simple, but can I do the same in VV? I can load the file into the trimmer and mark my take with in/out points, but can I rename this take and save it in a bin? Maybe VV offers a better way of organizing my takes but this is just the way I'm used to working - I'm also open to other suggestions though.

Thanks!

Kurt

Kind of. You can name regions that will appear in the Vegas EXPLORER window - not the media pool bins.

'nother thought,

If you want a copy of the segment as a new file you can pop it into the TL, double-click it and render to a new file.
