Former VW4 users I have question and for VF users

hi,

My question is basically this...I have some old videos I have been trying to capture with VW4. (the infamous dell bundled package) The old roxi vw4 users all know about the stupid copy guard protected flaw that pops up so that you can't capture...even though this is a normal home video. Have any VF2.0 users found that this software doesnt have this problem when capturing? My video is old and a bit jerky and this is what caused vw4 to show this waring and stop capturing. . But I need to preserve it because it is sentimental to the family and will be burned to DVD. I hope some of you can help me. Thank you. If the answer is yes...I will be buying VF2.0 today.

This has been a long-festering problem:

This is all the MGI/Roxio knowledege Base has to say on it:

However, on the old MGI/Roxio forum, there is this partial solution:

Essentially, it seems to occur when trying to capture old analog tape, and you might have some luck by playing the tape in a different VCR and/or adjusting the tracking on the playback machine slightly. Others have reported success by playing the tape on their camera THROUGH another VCR (line in or RF cable) as they capture. Try any/all of these suggestions and let us know which one works for you.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Thank you for the suggestion. I will try that method tonight when i get home. BUt overall do you think VF will avoid this issue about the copy guard...also do you or any former user like vf better?

In fact, at this point my best suggestion is to use VF. You may also have to get rid of that Mojave Device Breakout box which comes with the Dell package, because users have reported that it has some kind of proprietary relationship with VW, but think of it as the proverbial blessing in disguise. You 're much better off with something like the Canopus ADVC-100 for your analog capture anyway. I personally never had these problems because I mercifully didn't get the Dell package, but perhaps others who have gone this route can jump in with their experiences.
