No problems here, thank goodness, but those problems aren't strangers, either. I think it's strange that it's just the forum that wouldn't work. What a shame.

No problems here in Lancashire uk apart from the slowness. Could be a local or ISP problem.

Hmmm?

I'm now using a different link to get here.

I'm in London (UK) and I'm also unable to connect using the normal URLs at the moment.

I've tried www.sonymediasoftware.com and www.sonycreativesoftware.com and with both of them I get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" page in IE7 (and something similar with Firefox). However, if I use the IP address 66.77.63.218 then I can get on quite happily, as you can see.

I presume that there is some sort of DNS problem that is affecting some users (those outside the US, perhaps). With luck it will sort itself out eventually.

AlanC just got taken out! - It is defo the SonyCreative strap that is messing.

I've reported this to Webmaster and to Madison tech. Mark, if you have an inclination/time/wish throw one their way?

Sounds like a DNS issue.

Well, I've been out and about today and this is what I've found from various clients/locations/ISPs

West Wickham, Kent using BT Internet - No Connection
Locks Bottom, Kent using UK Online - a little slow, but can connect
Orpington, Kent using virgin media - no connection

From Pennsylvania the connection has been very, very slow for at least a week now with today being the slowest. I have cable broadband.

After spending the morning gloating to Grazie that I could connect when he couldn't, I lost my connection at 12:48 BST and only just got it back.

No problems with the internet in general, just this site.

Couldn't connect this morning in the San Francisco Bay area. Just the Sony site was affected as far as I could tell.

This forum has always been gimpy and slow. Once in awhile it is fast, but not usually. You just have to wait a few hours and it usually comes back.

This is the first time I have been able to connect since about 3pm yesterday and it is now 11.50am. I am in Tennessee in the states.

In a couple of weeks, they may have to put a "Member safe" Icon in the bottom right corner of this forum. Some page changes are still taking me forever and 2 days.

My ISP sometimes has issues with their DNS server so I have this in my
HOSTS file:
66.77.63.218 sonycreativesoftware.com # sony vegas

Located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

EDIT: You can also block websites by putting in an entry that points nowhere.
