I think the device would have to be programmable such that you could define that the play button on the device = the "L" key on the keyboard, etc. I looked up the owner's manual here and it didn't say anything about reprogramming the buttons. Might be worth a call to ADS to find out.

It was my understanding that this controller was not programmable and will not work with Vegas.

What you really want is the Tranzport from Frontier Designs. I have one and it’s fully programmable and works with Vegas. It’s also now officially supported by ACID Pro 6 (according to the brochure) so I suspect that Vegas might officially support it as well although no one has said that.

Keith, just for grins and giggles - and to get to thinking about problems and solutions another way - is the purpose of this to replace the keyboard and / or mouse controls while you are editing at the workstation, or is the purpose to control the Vegas transport from a somewhat remote location?

If it is the latter, and you have a laptop lying around (I know most of us don't, but some of us do...) - even an older laptop would work - you could use VNC or windows remote desktop to connect to your workstation over your wireless lan connection and control Vegas at will.

Just a thought...

No, just trying to break the mold (while not breaking the bank). Guess it's off to ebay for shuttle pro.
