Frame by frame

Could someone tell me, or direct me to how to work frame by frame?

For example: Say I wanted to make text look as if it's zooming in, then out, or drop down, etc. I'm guessing I would have to do this frame by frame?

Look in the manual under "Key Frames". For something like that you don't have to go frame by frame. Let the system do it for you.

Basically, you determine a "start" and "ending" point and Vegas fills in the gaps...
