Does debugmode frameserver work with VMS11?
I installed both but don't show in the "new looking" render as panel.
What's the benefit of this new look? To me its harder to navigate and find something.
Yes, and there is not.
I think it should not be there, instead in a new format,
called Debugmode Frameserver like in Vegas Pro.
I read that for earlier VMS it works, but in 11 (which i just buyed)
it seems not for me :-(
Just google a little..
I found such thing:
"I actually installed this on the consumer level Sony Vegas Movie Studio (by telling it I had Vegas) and it works great. Awesome little utility."
"movie studio and Vegas will accept vfapi frame served files - no problems .. do it all the time .. "
"the only frame server (out) that works with movie studio is the debugmode one ... "
It also works in 6.0, i just tested it.
Seems it does not work with the new 11 render as panel :-((
Any other solution for frameserving? I don't like the internal HD-SD resizing method, with virtualdub the quality will be so much better.
You didn't say what purpose your video will be used for.
It's quite easy render a visually lossless intermediate in Vegas.
Then use that in VirtualDub, MeGUI, Avisynth, TMPGEnc, Handbrake, etc.
There you have the advantage of better resizing and deinterlace algorithms.
My tutorial for Vegas->DNxHD->Handbrake may give you some ideas.
Thanks.
I don't like to create a HUGE lossless file.
Sometimes i have a 2-3 hour fullhd project, and
don't want to buy another big hard drive...
Life is much easier if i can use the frameserver.
I did this 2X last night in MS 11.
The video quality is not very good it was noticeably worse and the audio was very bad.
I will say I am new but I thought I followed along well enough to do get it done. I was all excited about it.
My MOV file was very large 15-20 gigs. When I used handbreak the file size was less than half a gig. Poor quality all the way around. My choices for MOV do not show uncompressed. I selected 3MB which said was the highest quality.
Settings in handbreak matched yours. Sounded awful. Picture was pixelated very badly.
Ok now I have been able to use this method (HandBreak) and I am surprised how well it turns out. I am really enjoying this now. I need to find a lesson on managing timeline and workflow to make things smoother but so far I am very pleased with the results I am getting for just starting out. I am a little disappointed that I didn't go forward with just purchasing Vegas 10 Pro but this is okay until I get a little more experience at it. This is purely a hobby for me.
