(Don't get too excited yet. This is a v0.1 beta release. )

This program runs with SONY's VidCap.exe Video Capture program and provides programmed recording functionality, much as you would use the timer mode of a VCR to start and stop recording at specific times. Start and end times may be entered including the date. This program requires that VidCap already be running on your computer for it to function properly! It is suggested that VidCap be set to not enable DV Device control. The "Display post-capture dialog after capturing video" option must also be selected. The desired capture directory must already be created and selected under Disk Management.

Anyway ... more gritty and horrid details available at the link. If you wanna be a guineapig and try it out for me i'll be most appreciative. Thanks!

Version 0.2 is available now. I've added a settings control panel. You can change some colors (wooooo). You can also change the control strings that the timer program uses to operate VidCap. This is helpful if you have VidCap install in a different language and the title bar and menus have different wordings.

Thanks Kelly, greatly appreciated.

Any chance of an analogue version? :~)

Alan, it should work fine whether VidCap is capturing digital or analog.

What i'm working on now is a way to operate the tuner if you have a TV tuner card installed. That way it would be able to change channels.

I look forward to trying it out!

"What i'm working on now is a way to operate the tuner if you have a TV tuner card installed."

But will that be HD PAL, HD NTSC or HD SECAM? And will it auto pause during commercials?

And will you be giving a free toy with that version too or is that offer only available with the current version?

And will Grazie still be able to receive the BBC World Service while he is recording Eastenders in Time Slip (or should that be Time Warp) and watching Dr Who five minutes before it started.

Gee I'm getting excited!. Can't wait for the next release Kelly :~) Are we nearly there yet?

Alan

"But will that be HD PAL, HD NTSC or HD SECAM?"
It doesn't care. VidCap handles all those details.

"And will it auto pause during commercials?"
Nope. We wouldn't want the advertisers to lose any potential customers, now would we? ;)

"And will you be giving a free toy with that version too or is that offer only available with the current version?"
vidcaptimelapse.exe should be available with the next release too.

"And will Grazie still be able to receive the BBC World Service while he is recording Eastenders in Time Slip (or should that be Time Warp) and watching Dr Who five minutes before it started."
I'm not dealing in impossibilities today. Check back tomorrow. Maybe.

"Are we nearly there yet?"
Gonna go have a nice dinner and spend a lovely evening with my wife. After that, we'll see.
