Hi,
Has anyone worked with these? Is there a trick I am missing?
Followed their tutorial for Vegas and it doesn't work. Support suggested I try the forums as they don't use Vegas.
I never was able to get them working. I've got two disks from them, I can't locate them at the moment, one is a red, white, and blue disk, and the other is just a single color top. Anyway, never could get them to even open, not even in Vegas.
Made a call to tech support, their return phone call was that they'd send out new disks that never came.
Let us know if they work out a means of support, because some of their stuff is pretty nice looking.
I have Animattes Vol 1 & 2. I assume you are asking how to use the Animattes that are basically a fancy animated frame for video. To use them in Vegas 5, you do this:
1. Drop the Animatte in Track 1. Most mattes are a white center portion with a black frame.
2. Drop your center portion video in Track 2.
3. Drop your background (ie. the frame) video in Track 3.
4. Make Track 2 a child of Track 1.
5. Change the compositing mode of Track 1 to Multiply (Mask).
6. Drag and drop the Mask Generator FX (use the Luminance Mask preset) onto Track 1.
You should now see your track 2 video in the center of the matte, and the track 3 video as the outer frame.
Incidentally, you can make your own Animattes using the Media Generators - use the black and white Color Gradients, or use the Noise Texture generators. Just use black and white, keyframe some motion, and do the above steps.
Thanks a lot .. that worked like a charm.
Boy, should see the snitty response I got from FreedomFX when I questioned their instructions and support.
Not exactly what I would have expected for a product costing $400. They even implied I got my product on eBay for $75.
Guess I'll know better the next time. :(
That's funny - Freedom FX now has a Vegas 5 description on their web site Tutorial page that is almost verbatim what I posted to you. I must be a mind reader!
Actually, I meant to post back. I replied to the snitty email and attached your instructions as well as a sample render I did.
Guess he liked it, but just doesn't get it! The "Vegas Video in REALTIME" section is what does NOT work and he left it up.
Thanks so much for the quick help.
Tom
