Vegas running under Win XP with SP1 with files on raid controller Locks up when your playing AVI’s lucky to last a few minutes. Sometimes total freeze sometimes freezes for 30 sec then comes back to life.

# This occurs on 2 separate Machines one an ASUS with AMD XP1500+Processor (512mb ram) the other an ASUS with P4 2.5ghz processor (512 mb ram). One of the machines is running Version 4.0D build 215 the other 4.0C build 184

# If the files are copied to a harddisk on the standard IDE controller it works fine.

# The raid controller on both motherboards is an built Promise MBFast Track 133 Lite Chipset = PDC20276. I only have one drive on it so its not running in raid 0 mode. The drive is a an IBM 40 gig… I know there a pile of crap but this one is fine. I have the latest raid driver down from the Asus Site.

# At this point I was pointing my finger at the Driver. However the same AVI files dragged into Adobe Premier (running XP with files on Raid controller) play fine no lockup. The drive is also stable I can copy files to and from it and Sisandra Pro reports normal transfer rates. Also playing the AVI's in MS Media Player work fine.

# One of the machines is Dual boot. Running under win2000 with SP3 all is fine no freezing.

So I’m lost …Help !!!!
