Freezing and Playback Delays

Hi,

I am using VEGAS Pro 17.0. Additionally, I bought a new computer with the recommended specification suggested by Software Creators. After installing, I experienced technical glitches that I relied on Youtubers to help me out with. Everything seemed to be working "reasonably" for 3 months and all of sudden:

1. I begin to experience MAJOR freezing issues. Something as simple as moving the cursor from 1 place in the project to another place, would result in like a 10 second freeze. I started a new project and the same issue occurred.

2. The playback frame sticks and is choppy when using the NewBlue Transitions.

3. When rendering a video, it does not capture the New Blue Transitions.

To fix the situation, I know i uninstalled and reinstalled the software. And also recall rebooting my computer like 6 times. Somehow i had fixed the situation, but i can't recall exactly how. The situation went away for like 2 weeks but now it's back again. This software in it's current state has become useless to me. How can I video edit, when i can not see what i am editing???

Thanks,

Do you notice this on all forms of media, or only when editing media that comes from certain sources? Does Vegas function properly if New Blue's stuff is not installed?

It doesn't matter the media, the freeze occurs and the playback is not good.

Without the New Blue transistions..it still freezes.

Some things to try:

Update your GPU drivers. For Nvidia GPUs, you want the studio drivers (not game ready). For AMD, you want the enterprise drivers. If Intel, just update to the latest.

What build of Vegas Pro 17 are you using? Some older builds had a bug where too many thumbnails displayed, such as in complex projects, would bog down the system and make it very unstable. Go into preferences and see if turning off thumbnail display helps. If so, you need to update your build of Vegas 17 to the latest version, which can be found in the "News" section of this forum.

If neither of these things work, we need the following info to help you further:

What are your project settings?

What are your system specs (CPU, amount of RAM, GPU, windows version)?

Provide us with a Mediainfo (download here) report of your media, one report per media type/source.
