Freezing Cold Playback

I have a weird problem. I rendered a file and tried to
open it in the print to tape proggie and it almost freezes
the program(I know it sounds weird). The program is really
slow to even move my mouse around while the file is open. I have
tried rendering in a plethora of formats and nothing seems to work.
The audio is fine but the video is choppy. It is only in that
program and It is definately not hardware(I think) I have
win2k, a P3, 1,000mhz, 384 megs of ram, 2-75 gig HD's at
7200 rpm and a partridge in a pear tree. I even have the
upgrade of the capture playback proggie. All the settings
are the same as capture on render including progressive
scan as is my camera. i just don't get it!!! Help!!!

Are you rendering using the NTSC DV render template? You
should be if you are trying to print to tape thru 1394.
Your results sound like maybe you rendered uncompressed?

I am using the ntsc dv template. It is still shoopy
video. If my camera is progressive scan should I use
progressive scan in the render settings??
I even tried rendering uncompressed and it just digressed
from there.
I am using a simple TI ohci 1394 card and Im not even
previewing the video on an external monitor, it's that
choppy on my monitor.(it seems about like every other frame
is doubling) I even reinstalled both programs. I am
desperate at this point.
What else can I try???

Solution was updating his hard drive driver.
