Frequent random crashes

Hi all

Been using VMS16 for a while now, and by far, it's the most unstable program I use and the most unstable version of VMS ever. I don't even have to be doing anything, and it just buggers out. During editing or playback, I have to preview using the lowest settings or it jitters in playback. My CPU doesn't go above 60% load, although CPU clock speed is usually pretty high. My PC specs are in my signature - I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be a hardware issue. Is there anything else in Windows 10 I can set / test to make VMS more stable?

Thanks!

Neel

My experiences with the program are much better and stable.
Using my laptop from signature with in the Windows taskmanager the Nvidia GPU disabled look how it works with me on a 2,7 K 50p project with big stills and GOpro 7 sources.

Sorry that I can't help you because you are sure its not your hardware.
Maybe drivers and/or settings we don't know?????

That's good to know, thanks. I opened Task Manager and found an instance of VMS still in the tasks, even though it was shut down. What does that mean?

I do note that I'm editing 4K video with a 3600 Mhz 4-core processor, and MAGIX recommends 8-core CPU for working in 4K. But isn't that the point to VMS creating proxy files? So I'm essentially working with HD content until I export? HD worked perfectly with previous versions of VMS.

By deleting it out the taskmanager, but the next time it will be there again and since you cannot work with constant controle of the taskmanager it has to do it by itself.
I cannot see your Windows version, which drivers are installed for all the components and so on and if they are uptodate. But you told that your hardware is no problem, but also if all things are updated with the Windows updates that comes more than once a month?
