Hola yall,
I have imported an old demo in VP8 using DVD camcorder disc.
Properties show up as follows: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/38HV3XVYbNwshjc4itiQ5h1SlqbChzsSiAY5ZeadwhA?feat=directlink
If I have no concern regarding the size what is the best settings to render for streaming on my website?
Thanks very much,
Randy

Please copy paste, I can't get the link to work

Randy, post the MediaInfo properties which shows the bitrates.
Can you upload a sample of your mpeg-2 to Mediafire or somewhere?

Hi Randy if you right click on the file it should bring up a box on the bottom of this box you will find the properties box click on this and it will tell you most of what you need to know about your files.

also alot depends on how the files were encoded on to your system as to what they maybe

but V9 has a few settings for the interent again all depending on how these are going to be streamed

but the likes of youtube now let you load up m2t files now

if i put anything up on youtube i just render down my footage as it is and bang up on there

MediaInfo is a freeware file information utility.

Thanks Randy, that helps.
Vimeo should enable us to download the original clip and play with it.
More to come.

Wow very cool...thank you!!!!
It's at about 90% but then I may have to wait since I don't have a paid account (holding off since my new website will have plenty of space)

Randy,
By morning three examples will be uploaded to http://vimeo.com/user1440262

The first is rendered in Vegas with Sony AVC, deinterlaced.
The second is rendered in Handbrake, deinterlaced using yadif.
The third is also rendered in Handbrake, using decomb.

All are 4Mbs, fully 1/3 smaller than your mpeg-2.

I did not crop the side and bottom, but if you choose too, I have some additional advice.

Your audio is kind of low, so I normalized it in Vegas.

When you have stated a preference, I will give you full rendering details to use as a starting point for your project.

thanks for that mv, most enlightening.

wasn't that impressed by the sony render, and the lasso certainly looked better in the decombed handbrake version....

Well first of all, thank you so much for going through all this trouble MV I really appreciate it.
They seem pretty close to me but if I had to pick I'd say the decomb looks the best out of the bunch.
Thanks again amigo,
Randy

I did a little demo for you.
This is the simple, fast method doing a straight conversion.
The ones I did before got some processing in Vegas and MXF render before HB.
Yes, I have way too much time on my hands this weekend.

.swf files...aren't they those annoying little things that hang around after I delete my unwanted vegas files? So they're actually useful?
Seriously ....I have no idea how I would go about using this?
If I'm trying your patience I'm really sorry but FWIW I am working on my ignorance.
Thanks,
Randy

It's a Flash video file - opens in your browser (Firefox or IE) or Adobe player.

If not, I can render to an mp4. Let me know.

(You are thinking of Vegas .sfk files).

Wow, eight years on this forum, and someone finally called me patient.
;?)

Glad to help. I like playing with the DemoCreator program I got from GAOTD. Native output is SWF.

Really though, I just had too much time on my hands (job offer fell through).

Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.

If you're not always patient, you are often helpful. Your efforts are appreciated by many.
