Full screen preview crash!

Fired up Vegas 14 for my first editing session tonight.

Spent the last six hours editing a 3D video, saving frequently.  I had a rough cut done, end-to-end, SAVED, and was viewing it when it occured to me to watch it full screen.  I first set the preview mode to right only, but the full screen mode showed side-by-side and flickered badly.  I set it back to project setting (side-by-side fulll) and it was displaying fine.  Then it occured to me to try anaglyph.  This time it went back to side-by-side full, flickered, and froze.  No response to the escape key, nothing.  I fired up the task manger to see what I could see, to no avail, so I selected the vegas task and hit the switch to button and vegas crashed outright.

I had two vegas projects open at first, the 3D project and another where I was loading some 360 view clips to check their synchronization.  I closed this latter project after the first full screen view attempt.  When I restarted vegas it autorecovered this project, not the 3D project (the one actually running during the crash).  When I opened the 3D project almost half my edits were gone, even though I'd saved it.

So...in a nutshell:

Full screen preview does not conform to requested video preview mode.  (this worked in VP13).

Full screen preview mode crashes.

Hitting the save button doesn't reliably save the project.

Vegas unable to auto-recover my project.

Aaaaargh!!!!

There is an old bug in Vegas since some versions that some of the combinations between the 3D preview settings and the 3D project settings does not work together. For example, you cannot use the difference preview together with anaglyph project settings.

I do not know if that was the issue for you. But I can try to test with what I have here if you give me more informations:

- what type of 3D footage do you edit?

- is the preview system an active system (nvidia 3D vision with a quadro) or a passiv monitor?

- what were the project settings in more detail when it was blown up?

I'm editing GoPro 3+ Black 3D video, paired in Vegas.

I'm using a simple monitor, not a 3D display.

Hmmm...haven't checked how to post images here yet...here's a link to a screen capture of my project settings:

Hmm, typically I edit MVC s3D footage, and I use nvidia 3D vision. So I think we have quite different footage but also very different hardware.

I do not know if it makes sense - but would it be possible to have a short sample of your footage? Both for L and R to be able to test the pairing and how it works in Vegas here?

If I do a full screen on my main monitor and then click on the screen and press 'Esc' to clear it, it does nothing. I have to use the task thing to shut down Vegas 14. I do not have this problem in Vegas Pro 13. So there is a bug in Vegas Pro 14 from what I can tell.
