FW1884 review, sort of...

I just purchased the Tascam FW1884 based on Sony claims of Mackie emulation in Vegas5. Well ,the Tascam works with great ease in other software (Sonar, DP4 etc..) Sony Vegas cannot record automation or use the left side controllers.
The FW1884 also appears to NOT have flying faders. What I mean is that after recording automation moves, the faders remain where they are while onscreen pan and volume, effect etc.. faders are flying all over the place-the FW1884 remains still, flat.
Also, the FW1884 has no lights on the faders themselves. The EQ buttons do not work on it either. I just do not think it is ready for prime time yet.
On the plus side- when playing back my Windows Media9 player, the output was crisper and cleaner than my Motu 828, a VERY noticable difference! Better convertors?
My recomendation is to hold off buying the Tascam FW1884 until Vegas is supported completely.
