FX Plugins

I'm new to DV NLE so please bear with me. I originally purchased Video Factory because it was cheap. However, I soon found that I wanted to do more than it would allow, so I purchased Vegas Video (could not resist the $149 BestBuy price). So far I have been pretty happy with it. My question is where do I go to get FX Plugins for VV? It seems that all of the major packages I've found don't support VV - they all seem to work with Adobie Premier. If I want to continue learning NLE techniques, is VV a dead end for me? I know that VV has supports the Spice FX, but they seem to be just a bunch of different transitions (and expensive ones at that!). Are there any 3D FX or Titling Plugins available? Will there be any for version 3.0?

A bunch of plug-in makers have expressed interest but Pixelan is the only one that is shipping at this time. The are more than transitions- check out the SpiceFilters- tons of cool fx.

We also continue to develop plug-ins in-house. Did you know that if you download and install the new VideoFactory 2.0 demo (no need to buy it) you'll get some new plug-ins for Vegas? More new plug-ins will definitely ship with Vegas 3 as well.

Before I shell out the bucks for the Spice FX, are they available from other sources besides SonicFoundry's web site. No offense, but your prices for your own products are triple than BestBuy's. Is the same true for Spice?

The Best Buy deal is temporary and the price is their decision. You may or may not be able to find Pixelan at a discount somewhere on the web-

Looking throught older posts I found one from Ted_H (from SonicFoundry) that states:

"Vegas and Video Factory are completely different programs. Although some of the effects and plug-ins from one may show up in the other, they were not designed to share plug-ins. Sorry for any confusion."

So..., which is it? I own a copy of VF 1.0 and VV 2.0. Should I uninstall VV 2.0, download the trial VF 2.0 and reinstall VV 2.0? Which effects can I expect to work and which will not? Additionally, I bought VF 1.0 less than a month before VF 2.0 came out. I didn't worry about the upgrade issue since I purchased VV 2.0. Can I upgrade to VF 2.0 for free? (I know your web site say $29 but thats almost what I paid for VF 1.0)
