Don't know where the link is offhand, but I tried to make a gadget labs 824 work with win2K some time ago with an experimental driver that was posted somewhere. It was a hopeless cause. I think it's time for a new sound card.

I gave up too. I ordered an Edirol UA1000. The repots I'm hearing are great so I'm excited to try it. I'll post a review after I've had a chance to evaluate it.

Are you sure you have USB 2.0 on your system? If not, you will be disappointed with USB in general.

I have just built a new 64 bit Athlon system with USB2. That is why I have chosen to upgrade the card as well. In talking with Edirol they claim that the USB card produces less latency than a PCI. Time will tell. The new system should be up and running by the end of the week.

I am new to XP though and if anyone has any tweaking suggestions I'm open. The system is...

Athlon 64
2- 160 gig SATA HDs (not raid)
Asus kv8 mobo
15 gig ram

I partitioned 25 gigs of one HD for nothing but XP PRO and another 25 gigs for apps. The remaining 100 gigs will be for backup. The other 160 gig HD is my work drive.

If anyone is still using win 98 and could use an 8/24 card mine is available.
