Gap In Background Loop

MUTTLEY wrote on 2/6/2004, 6:01 PM
So they make loop based audio and video software but yet there's a gap in the loop I have playing in the background of my menu. Ironic eh ?

Any " workaround " for this ? If I loop the vid in Vegas its fine but there is a very visible " skip " or " gap " when it goes to loop in DVDA. I even tried one of Vegas's backgrounds and that did the same so it doesnt appear to be any fault of my own.

Any info would be appreciated.

P.S. I wonder if Sony has any idea how much money they save because of these forums and the people in it ? I swear I would have them on speed dial otherwise.

If you refer to menu loop, it is the dvd set-top or software that you use. When the menu ends and loops, it actually goes to a re-initilization, the buttons are returned to default etc. This is the gap, and I havn't found any workaround for it.

My solution was basic but effective. I looped the menu background vid in vegas 4 times and rendered out. It still has the gap but it takes longer to get to it. Most people would have picked somthing by then anyway.

The should be no gap unless your audio and video are not the same length and you let DVDA auto caluclate the length. If audio longer video will go to black while audio continues. If video longer audio will go to silence while video continues. Either use audio that goes with the clip or manually set menu length.

I also have the gap, and it even appears if the audio and video are the same (down to the last millisecond). I always thought the gap came from the laser having to skip back to the beginning of the loop. I have noticed that the longer my loop is the longer the gap is. I dunno, could be wrong though.
