Genarts Watermark in Rendered Nest. Not in Source?

Grazie wrote on 6/8/2013, 1:06 AM
This is a new one for me. I'm asking here to establish if others have had this.

After doing my normal Q&A before doing an overnight render, I open the rendered file to see a Genarts Watermark from a GA Sapphire Edge "Film Style" FX Plug.

OK, my Main Video has a Nested Veg - let's call it VegA. VegA has a Genarts Plug, and when I check for playing it is fine, there is definitely no Watermark. In the Source Veg nor the Main. But now when I render-out, the Main Video, this render produces this GA Watermark.

I'm now rendering out JUST that section within the Source, VegA. As it is rendering there is no GA Watermark.

So to summarize: After rendering a Main Video it produces a GenArts Watermark from a Nested Veg.

Grazie

Perhaps check you've paid for the software Grazie?

Not specifically with Genarts, but I've had all sorts of issues with nested projects with Version 12, particularly when rendering.

Sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes when I create a more complicated timeline, i.e., without any nested projects, the render works OK.

I've found that my renders crash almost every time if I have a nest inside a nest.

Duncan H : "Perhaps check you've paid for the software Grazie?"

I have a fully functioning licence. As I said, this Watermark only appeared POST render.

Hi Grazie, do you have to pay $1700 for sapphire in Sony Vegas? I have it installed on a trial basis and there are some nice effects but I'm still having sticker shock over the price.

Erik, I don't have Sapphire, I have Sapphire Edge.

How does that compare with Sapphire? I guess I'm asking why did you choose edge? How much did it cost you?

The pricing is on the genarts site , what a strange question .
Genarts sapphire edge is 199 US $ , I bought it when it was in promo action .

There is issues with sapphire edge and vegas , like one has to render to same format first to have effect in right place , only then re-render to different format , when final render is different format.
Rather annoying issue and genarts confirmed this being a vegas issue .
( they answer in few days on trouble mails ).

really nice plug-in , whish the sony people give it some more attention to get it
working the way it should .

How does that compare with Sapphire?

I've seen Sapphire demo-ed. It's a great tool. But the price tag is a bit rich for me and my client-base and style of projects.

Click here for an up-to-date cost for Sapphire Edge.

My favourite tool in SE is the "Film Style" Preset.

I don't think it strange to ask others what they paid. I've found the pricier that software is the more likely there are opportunities to buy it cheaper. Or simply become aware of promotions that are soon to come or whatever. It never hurts to inquire about price.

$1700 for Sapphire OFX effects though? Can't you buy the entire Adobe Master Suite Collection for that kind of money? I know that you can buy Avid Media Composer 7 for $999 and just about any other software you want to mention.

@ i am erikd - and this is NOT flaming, trolling, whatever, just a passing observation:

one can edit with mm2, why bother with vegas? one can shoot video on a mobile phone, so why bother with a ex1, or the like, etc., etc.,

sapphire is a truly amazing piece of software - as is it's more affordable edge.

you simply get what you pay for in any of these situations, and if you can't see the benefit of a $1700 plugin it's not a big deal, just as avitar, star wars, etc., weren't created in ae. however, if you do need something way beyond what anything else can offer, sapphire hits the mark...

Thanks Ushere for your thoughts. Are you a user of Sapphire? If so, which of the effects in your mind go "way beyond what anyone else can offer".

Thanks,

Erik

i have sapphire, but to be honest i've barely scratched the surface of what it can do. i think, considering the range of productions i do, edge would be perfectly acceptable (i have sapphire from my post-house days).

in the hands of a 'pro', and by that i mean someone seriously in the know, say ad agency on line editor, can create / design the most phenomenal signature effects. i don't pretend to have even the first inkling of how to use sapphire at that level, but when i had my post-house a number of my clients employed the same editor (who originally introduced me to sapphire) he could knock out breathtaking fx, transitions, motion backgrounds, etc., very quickly that clients happily paid for (we're talking serious ad agency fees)....

that said, edge looks like the more practical version for the editors i know.....
