General Editing Questions??

Is there a way to enter how long a photo can be in your video or is there a way to see how long a still is? How do you know how long the transition takes. I know you can read this stuff from the timeline above but I find that a little cumbersome... What is a good length of time for a transition?

How do you move multiple video and audio segments? I either want to move them forward or backward.

Are color panels video or video overlay?

If you put your cursor over the still or the transition and doubleclick, the length will show up on the right hand under your edit window. There is a beginning timecode, ending timecode and a length.

You can select multiple events by either using CTRL-A for all of them, or CTRL and click on each one you want to select. Then you can move them as a group. (Unless you have locked any segment)

Another method of moving events around is by right clicking on the first event and selecting "select events to end." Then when you move the first event, all the events to the right of it on that track will move too.

If you want to move multiple tracks with video and audio, the best way for me is to group all the events together that I want to move. Then they move together all the time. If I need to move a single event away from that group, I just ungroup that event.

Moving events around, grouping and ungrouping was difficult for me at first, but now it's a piece of cake. I love it! Take some time to practice and it will get easier.
