General HD/SD mixture question...

Just need to know, is there any reason I could successfully not add an individual HD visual element (like material from Digital Juice).

Just wondering if there is anything to watch for on this kind of thing so as to preclude any problems.

I know next to nothing (0) about working with HD, thus my question.

Not an SD newbie, but definitely an HD newbie. :)

Thanks.

I've imported effects from DJ with a bit of tweaking it should work...

For example:

try selecting .avi as format
then choose format options (right next to it ) and select x264 or H.264 compressor.

Set the alpha type to straight choose your output location and render away.

Once thats done just import it into vegas, right click on the effect and change alpha to straight. You should then see a checkered background that means it is transparent as it should be ..

SD & HD are different aspect rations. The solution: pan/crop the HD clip to the SD AR (4:3 or 16:9).

that's all I've encountered. Oh, generated media is at the resolution the project was when the media was created. So if you make an SD project & add generated media, then change the project to HD, all your generated media will be SD, you'll need to change it (resolution & AR).

OK.

Thanks, guys.

It seems that the majority of the DJ stuff is tending towards HD, with SD decreasing gradually.

I am still in the SD world and I have a ton of DJ (SD) stuff. Just wanted to make sure I could use the HD stuff as I gradually shift over to HD...maybe. :)

Thanks!
