Generated media/cool effects

I've been checking out what some people have done and posted here and there (sundancemedia for example). some really cool stuff out there and it's great that so many people post and share their veg files. I have a question: when I look at the media pool, I find "noise texture #73" , for example and it's animated. how is that done? is it something that's created? and if so, how?

You can animated generated media by using keyframes. Set the media properties at the beginning, then add a keyframe a few seconds later and adjust some of the properties. Vegas interpolates the frames between the two, giving you your "animation."

I haven't done a whole lot of this, but you can probably find a whole lotta tips & cool stuff at Kelly Chien's Vegas website.
