Generated Media icon not working (?)

This is an issue that is driving me mad...

Working in Vegas 8.0c, I have inserted a piece of generated media (a solid color). But it's the wrong color. To change it, I would normally press the icon at the top right of the generated media as viewed on the timeline (above the ones for event Pan/Crop and Event FX). However, pressing this does nothing.

Oddly, it works in 8.1 (at least, it does when the timeline actually shows up!). Creating a new project has no effect, and inserting new generated media does not work. I imagine it's a system setting I've inadvertently changed, but have no notion at to which one.

Any ideas?

sounds like you moved the properties window outside of the viewable screen. I forget how to get it back in view!

If you have more than one monitor, turn on the other(s) and see if you moved the window over there.

Otherwise, it might be docked somewhere, but clicking its icon on an event should have brought it back to the top of the stack it's in.

Ah, that's done it!

I had somehow hidden it behind the taskbar. Auto-hiding the taskbar revealed it.

Goodness knows how I managed to hide it down there.
