Can you tell us if you are then Printing TO Tape [PTT] via VF or VW ["Getting back out through VideoWave 4"]? If it is the latter - VW - why? If it's the former - VF -
I too have problems.

How are you playing the file back to the VCR? I have just used Media player or WinDVD to play the file and switched my computer to the composite video output on the video card. Recording to DV tape is easy with Videofactory however.

I think I might have your answer here:

Eventually, however, you might want to get rid of that Mojave/Videowave stuff, and use the Canopus AVDC-100 to get your videos to VCR from VF, as well as to capture, if you're capturing from analog. If you're capturing from DV, bring it into VF directly via firewire into your firewire card.

Grazie:
Iam trying to print to VCR in VF, after printing to file in VF. You ask "why", I'm not sure what you mean. As I have the Dazzle box and Mojave card, I understand I can't print from VF No?
Thanks,
Reg

Thanks, will follow that up. I have a Canon ZR35 DV camera and would love to use the DV capture. Do you mean I can plug the fire wire cable directly into the Dazzle card? It doesn't work through the box. The Canopus AVDC-100 is a replacement for the Dazzle card? I'm a beginner here, forgive the questions, and thanks,
Reg

If the Dazzle card in the back of your computer is OHCI-compliant, yes, you should be able to go directly to that from your DV cam via firewire. Try it. If by any chance it isn't OHCI-compliant, get a new one, for example ADS Pyro, for about $50 for just the card. It would be unnecessary to buy more expensive versions just to pay more for extra bundled software. And yes, the Canopus ADVC-100 is much better for capturing and outputting analog.

I am trying to record from the preview screen of VW4 to the VCR. I appreciate your advice. I have never tried to record to the camera DV tape. We use the camera to take beach wedding videos, edit, print to VHS tape, and then erase everything. I am very disappointed in the DEll package as I wanted an integrated system to do everything in the photo-video line. As I am in Mexico, I can't get access to much help or service, and i am a bit nervous about opening up the computer. Looks like I will have to upgrade enventually. I can't burn DVD's or Photo CD's, but that is not a priority right now, I just have to get the video production down to a quick routine. Thanks a bunch,
Reg

I am very lost in what you are trying to do. If you already have a capture card then plug your camcorder with the firwire into your capture card and capture the video through VF. After you are done with making your movie download the movie through the firwire into your camcorder. Then use the RCA outputs from your camcorder to record to VHS. (That is if you can't find a better way to do it...)

Great news! I re-rendered the file in VW4 which went very quickly, and it went to VCR quite nicely, reasonable quality. It was a 6.2 Gig file, 28 minutes, no apparent loss of audio synch in the re-rendered version. Phew! And muchas gracias to everybody!

to dave-10: Thanks, will start experimenting
to andremike: At this point I was trying to salvage a VF2 rendered file to VHS tape aas directly as possible. Will try your suggestion next time. Thanks
