I’ve been away from video production for a couple of years and I would now like to get back into it. I am strictly a hobbyist not a professional! I currently have Vegas Pro 11.0 (Build 700) which I have install on my Dell XPS 8700 running Windows 7 Professional (x64). It seems to work except it no longer recognizes my Sony DCR-TRV520 NTSC Digital Handycam so I can’t download video clips.
I wonder if there is a suitable Vegas upgrade that I should consider or is there a download for Vegas 11.0 that could solve my problem? If I upgrade I don’t need all the fancy extras. Also, I am wondering if Sony has a more recent camcorder that has the same capabilities as the one I have. I find recording on a drive or flash drive to be more appealing than on tape.
