Getting "fluttery" recordings with Vegas LE, but not with my Sound Forge 5.0. Anyone know why?

Hello, all.

I'm not a technical fellow, but I'm sure you pros can help me out. I have been doing quality recordings with Sound Forge 5.0 using an AudioMedia III sound card with no problems. When I finally decided to experiment and do some recording with Vegas LE(which came with my Sound Forge upgrade)I was surprised to find my recordings to come out deffective. The recorded sound plays with a violent "flutter" - completely unusable. It's on the same computer as Sound Forge 5.0 (which still records perfectly), so I don't understand why my Vegas LE recordings are so awful. Am I missing something obvious? Anyone?

check your routing in options. Dont use "microsoft sound mapper" if you can help it. Also make sure that the sample rate in project properties is the same as you were using on sf5.

Thanks, but even after all that, the recordings still come out like a voice through a floor fan. Very odd, especially since my Sound Forge 5.0 recordings are fine. I stick with 44,100 Hz, 16 bit most of the time. I suspect the AudioMedia III sound card to be the troublemaker, which I got with Pro Tools LE, but like I said -- it works with Sound Forge just fine. You'd figure if it worked for one, it would work with the other, no?

Any other suggestions before I bother tech support?
