Getting Letterbox Format on 16:9 TV Screen

To better describe the problem I am encountering: the picture I am getting when playing DVD's created inVegas/ DVD Architect Studio are letterbox in shape when viewed on a 16:9 HDTV screen. The project appears fine in the preview window, but when rendered and burned to DVD, the content appears on the TV screen with the typical black spaces above and below the picture that you would expect on a 4:3 screen. Any and all suggestions to correct this problem would be GREATLY appreciated.

You are obviously rendering letterbox rather than 16:9 anamorphic. They look the same on a regular TV, but on a 16:9 widescreen TV the difference is quite apparent. The Ultimate S plugin automates this change in format nicely. Did you shoot letterbox or widescreen?

I'm using all stills, and panning and zooming using the event pan/crop tool. When rendering in Vegas, how do you distinguish between letterbox and 16:9 anamorphic?
