I want to get rid of several overlapping pictures (in a montage) as to but them as cuts. Doing this because client changed their mind and added a song and I want to add 1 sec to pictures 200 - 260 to gain a minute. Doing the exact opposite as the gap wizard in Excalibur. Anyone?
Go to picture 261 and "Select to End". Slide the selection down the time line to the right -- in other words, give yourself some working room on the time line of at least a minute.
Zoom in a bit so you can see the individual pictures clearly. Now begin with picture 260 and slide if away from 259 to the right, lengthen it by 1 second, slide it out of the way to the right and repeat until all 60 have been resized. Use Gap Wizard to pull everything back together.
There's may be a faster way, but this won't take long and won't require an upgrade of your software.
Dunno if this will do what you want or not, but it's extremely fast, easy, and simple.
- Select all the pictures in that range. This can be done in one mouse movement.
- Press G to group them all together.
- Make sure Autoripple is on.
- Ctrl-drag the right edge of the last picture in the group over to the right by one minute.
Done. Unfortunately, this will also increase the duration of the overlaps as well as the pictures. However, depending on the ratio of overlap to non-overlap, it may be acceptable.
Yes. Any time you bring up the GUI it counts as a use (and it's 15 times instead of 14).
To use Gap Wizard, all you need to do is select the track with the clips/images and then run it. An amount of "00:00:00:00" will create a cuts only track.
