Hello all. Im new here and have a question about Movie Studio. When i first got this software from a friend as a christmas gift back in 2013 (Dont worry, i had the license transferred to me), i could put a video clip on the timeline without any problems. Well, since ive had to reinstall the OS on my computer a couple times since then, Im not getting video, just sound. I dont know if im missing a driver or what. Its frustrating. Ive looked for the answer to my question to no avail. If there is a thread regarding this issue, im sorry for posting double.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are missing a codec, one that was on your system before you had to reinstall the OS but now is missing. What kind of video file does your camera produce?

I have two cameras. One produces an .AVI file, the other an .MOV file, which this particular version of MS does not support. I have to convert it using a video converter. Can you download a codec as easily as you can a driver?

Most (not necessarily all) .MOV files require Apple's QuickTime to be installed. You probably had this on your computer before you reinstalled the OS.

If i open the clip in the Trimmer, the empty space at the top of the trimmer's timeline where the video SHOULD be, it says "Media Offline".
