getting subtitle track from architect into Vegas

the Subtitled 157 min film was finished + complete with subtitles in DVDA3 - NOw I need to get sample clips for posting on a web site.

1) is there an easy way to do that out of architect?

I tried exporting the subtitle track back into Vegas 6 with no luck. My thought was that if I got the subtitle track into Vegas I could render out my clips as I pleased.

Any help on how to do this would be appreciated.

In the DVD Architect timeline, select Export Subtitles icon.

Save as Vegas Regions text file.

Open that text file in Notepad. Select everything and copy to the clipboard.

In Vegas, open Edit Details. Show: Regions. Click on the little square at the intersection between the row and column headings (this selects the entire region list). Press Ctrl-V to paste your subtitle names and timecodes.

Done.

Hi John:

just wondering if you would be able to help out with the next step. I was away on a research trip for the last 12 days.

When I follow the steps outlined above - that you so kindly offered, sure enough, the text did come into Vegas. Thouhg, here is the problem, the text subtitles come into Vegas as Markers not regions.
The regions feild was indicated and I tried it repeated times - each try it came in as markers.

The second thing is that the markers are not alligned with the right time code. The markers with the right text from the subtitles in Archtiect are all inserted behind what the time code indicates in the text file. So the film's guest speaks....then a few seconds after is the start of the marker.

I'm not sure how to get the marker to show up as a subtitle here. Do you know if that is possible - or possible as a region?

What my goal is is to be able to have the subtitles in a working copy of Vegas so I can render out selected clips with the subtitles for posting on my film clip sample site.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.
