I recently upgraded to VegasPro 8. Started new project by importing over 6,000 pics and video clips into media manager. Two days ago one group of pictures from a single folder on external hard drive somehow became corrupted, showing duplicate pictures, one with the picture in the thumbnail, the other blank icon but with all tags that I had applied. Deleted all pictures in the media mgr that were corrupted and re-imported those pics and re-applied all tags (small folder with only 18 pics).

Yesterday, I attempted to delete the system-applied tags showing scan date/time. I had done this previously and had no problems. But yesterday, I did this and a DIFFERENT 1st-level tag and its sub-tags were all deleted. This was a relatively small subset of all my tags, but I had spent a week tagging all these pics and clips. Next, not believing that the media mgr messed up, I more carefully chose another scan tag for deletion. This time, media mgr wiped out 90% of my tags from the whole library--that I spent a week assigning. Argh!!

I have not closed the session since doing this hoping that there are some experts online today who can tell me how to UNDO what media mgr has done to me.

(BTW, I have been using ver. 6 for a couple yrs and have considered it the best, most stable piece of software that I own.) Sure hope ver. 8 doesn't change my opinion...
