Glitches when playing back in Windows Media Player

Produced a video in Vegas 13 (Windows 8.1). It plays back fine in Vegas, as might be expected. I rendered it to MPEG2, since the final destination will be DVD. Just to take a look at the finished product, I pulled the .mpg file up in Windows Media Player. For the most part, it looks and sounds fine, but there were occasional glitches, where the sound and picture paused very briefly (less than a second).

Should this concern me?

By the way, the render option I chose was Main Concept MPEG-2 NTSC Widescreen.

There are number of variables that effect playback on a computer that may not be present on a DVD player. The real test is to burn physical media and play it on the cheapest DVD player you can find.

Though not completely definitive, the preview in DVD Architect would expose persistent glitches in rendered output.

The issue of working with audio or video for that matter in the Windows Media Player present a whole host of issues..are you trying for some kind of universal test before distribution for that purpose. I hope not.

Locally your PC is likely the problem.

The videos do play normally in the DVD Architect preview window, for what it's worth.

Burning a disc. I'll report back.

Burned a disc and everything looked fine.
