Glitchy Slow Motion Effect

Comments

@Former user I see, well that makes sense, although I think I've actually been able to get it to look pretty good for the most part with other scenes. I think that clip I first posted as an example was particularly hard for it to try to process. But I'll continue experimenting, with that plugin and other things!

A new issue I just started having is sometimes it tells me that my "graphics card does not have sufficient memory to complete this operation" and just fails to do the slow motion altogether.

I think it might be because I have a lot of color correction FX applied?

Also my GPU info is in my signature. I have the latest Studio driver.

I have an RX 6800 XT and I get this!

@StardustCreations @Vincent-Brice For this i was using that 9sec clip, no other fxs but I get that too, RTX 3090 SUPRIM 🤷‍♂️😂

@Former user Ah, in that case, that particular FX must be for future GPU's not invented yet. Phew! 😅

@Vincent-Brice Yeah it's a guessing game, which GPU does adequately support that feature ?🤷‍♂️🕺😂

@Vincent-Brice @Former user Well at least I'm not alone! xD I'm grateful for this forum ^^ So far Twixtor seems like the more reliable option for me.

If neither AMD or Nvidia's latest and greatest are supported, it begs to question @VEGASDerek, which current GPU's are supported?

I added the fx to one of my clips and this is what I see.... and I am using an "old" AMD RX480 8GB card. Makes me now hesitant to upgrade to something "newer" since I might lose GPU support in a FX I haven't used yet from Vegas.

@Reyfox When i add the fx there's no warning msg, but i just added it & changed Playback rate to 0.25, played through once, then the red warning msg popped up 🤷‍♂️

Former user wrote on 7/1/2022, 7:09 AM

@Reyfox This is how it went with Slow motion just now, this was similar to the other dy, the msg didn't pop up till later but the fx is pretty much useless

Reyfox wrote on 7/1/2022, 7:55 AM

@Former user I played my 4K clip back at .25 and no warnings.... Rendering a short clip seems to rely on the CPU (80%) than the GPU (20%) averaging little more than 3fps rendering to 4K 50P. Video encoding is like a mountain range... up...down...up... down....

Looking at the exported video, it was a little blurry. I had Blend and Fine chosen.

It's odd, I get the warning message intermittently when I apply the Fx and change settings. There does seem to be some GPU activity in 3D. I'll restart my computer and test it again.

Reyfox wrote on 7/1/2022, 8:19 AM

@RogerS I have an "old" AMD graphics card. @Former user (latest and greatest Nvidia) and others have Nvidia, while @Vincent-Brice also has a current gen AMD graphics card. I don't know if that has anything to do with it?

Hi Reyfox, I restarted and tried again. It seemed to work without an error but is clearly using my Intel iGPU and not my NVIDIA GPU (GTX 1050) despite that being selected in preferences/video. Maybe that is the type of GPU it is compatible with?

Reyfox wrote on 7/1/2022, 9:21 AM

@RogerS VEGAS isn't forthcoming in what works best with this FX. You might be on to something with the Intel iGPU.
