Good Training on masking - child-parent - other

I'm good at everything on VMS except this masking and parenting business. The help files are worthless, the VASST training dvd they sent with the program is really bad.

Can anyone recommend a good source training book, DVD, or on-line something.

Vasst lists another Training dvd but they want $50 for it and I can't tell if it is more of the same bull as the first..

If you have SVMS Platinum it comes with Animattes, and a short how-to (not exactly a tutorial). See this thread for a discussion.

Well, this wasn't my thread, but I'm glad I came across it. Great tutorials, guys, thanks! My son dabbles with masks and mattes, but I haven't, and I don't understand the different modes (multiply alpha or whatever, etc), but these tutorials motivate me to go learn this stuff. Really cool info, and thanks again, all of you.
