Google SmartPhone OS mp4 files wont import right

Hi all, I have a Google Android OS smart phone that I occasionally shoot videos with. I shoot using the HD mode which gives me mp4 video files. I just downloaded the trial version of Sony Vegas 11 since my Sony Vegas Platinum 8 wouldn't recognize/edit these mp4 files. Sad to say but Vegas 11 only brought in the audio. I just can't believe that the latest software from Sony cannot recognize one of the most popular cell phone video files out there. So is there a workaround for this issue and if so, maybe it would work for Vegas 8 Platinum too and save me the trouble and $ for the upgrade. Thanks.

What is the phone model you have? Also, upload somewhere (on a server with a direct download link, not on youtube) a small such MP4 file, directly out of the phone, so we can test it here too. 3-4 seconds of video are enough for us to test.

I changed some video settings on my phone (actually to the highest settings) and Vegas seems to have no problems editing them now. So thanks. Maybe this will help for someone else.

I know this is an old post, but I'm experiencing the same issue trying to import my recorded mp4 videos from my Android phone. I'm wondering what settings specifically you changed to get your videos to work in Vegas?
