Grab a still (snapshot) and insert into timeline?

Hi all...
Is there an easy, one step method of grabbing a still frame (from the trimmer) and inserting it into the timeline?

I'm doing a montage of stills and the current sequence of {grab frame -> save to file> insert into timeline} seems a bit clunky...

If I can copy a frame into the clipboard, how do I insert it into the timeline?

Thanks!

Carla

I think your method is about as straight forward as it gets.

You could try copying to the clipboard, then placing the cursor on the track at the right location, and paste. Not sure what it will do, but if it works it might save one step. Probably though it will prompt for a location to save the image file, which adds that step back in.

Disclaimer: someone else may have better information than I, but...

Vegas has to have a reference to the media to be stored in the .veg file, thus the requirement of saving to a file. It doesn't 'remember' clipboard contents or store image information that's not in the media pool.

Doesn't work -- "Paste" is not an available option in this sequence of steps.
