Grab Frame for Thumbnail

I fooled around for a couple of hours over the weekend and I can't figure out how to grab a frame from a video file to use it as a background for a title button in DVA.

I know how to change the background of the menu and a button but I can't figure out how to just grab a frame for the button background.

Any suggestions?

Exact steps will depend on which version of DVDA you're using, but generally speaking, you select the button you want to edit, go to the Properties window (or Button Properties window) and choose the Media tab. Be sure that Style is set to "Still" and change the Start Time to correspond to the frame you want to use.

As for how to use a specific frame, you can do one of (at least) two things:

a) Select Start Time and click the arrow to the right, which will give you a slide that lets you move through the available frames. This isn't particularly accurate, though, because DVDA moves in increments of one percent. (Ie, if your movie has 3000 frames, each movement here will be 30 frames.)

b) Go to the timeline for that movie and find the frame you want to use. When you do, double-click the timecode (on the left, above the track headers) and copy it. Then go to the Start Time as mentioned above and paste that timecode.

Latest versions of DVDA will let you go to a spot on your Title Timeline, then in the Tree structure on the left, rt-click/Set Thumbnail from View
