I would like to grab small clips from commercial video dvds for my personal use. You know... "Go ahead, make my day" or "Frankly my dear...", perhaps background sound.

Presently, the way I do it is to grav a .vob file (always very large), find the section I want, trim everything else, and then re-render it. This works but is time consuming. I haven't even tried it with audio-only.

Is there a quicker/better way?

By the way, I'm pretty much a newbie at this stuff and I am using VMS8.
