Green frames and crashing when editing with Vegas Pro 22.

Hello again,

Has anyone experienced random green frames when editing with the latest version of Vegas Pro?

Although I am mostly working with relatively light H. 264/MPEG-4 AVC as well as H. 265/HEVC files from Fuji XT-4 camera, I noticed two things:

If I enable the legacy AVC decoding I no longer have the random green frames but I get constant crashes. Sometimes like every 5 minutes.

If I disable the aforementioned setting I no longer get crashes but I get the green frames.

Is this an issue with how Vegas processes these files or it might by something to do with my ssd's or GPU?

My system specs:

CPU: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700K   3.40 GHz

128 GB RAM

GPU: NVIDIA Gforce RTX 4070

Motherboard: ROG STRIX Z790-F GAMING WIFI II

Windows 11 Pro

2 nvme ssd for editing.

@konstantinos-sokolas Hi, if you put 'green frames' in the Search box at the top you'll find a few posts regarding this issue, spoiler alert I don't believe there is one simple solution & the hope is that whatever is causing it is something Vegas will identify & fix.

PS, If you click your Icon at the top of this page - My Profile you can put your PC specs in My Signature, this will then always show at the bottom of your comments 👍

Yes a few of us have experienced green frames and it seems specific to NVIDIA GPUs and VP 21.300 through 22.194.

You've found one workaround- you could also try setting hardware decoding to none in preferences file io before rendering and see if that helps with the green frames while avoiding the crashes.
