Did you use the eyedropper to select the background?

Sorry if I missed something, but why are you trying to change it to pure green screen?

You may have the FX Bypass button pressed in the preview window.

Are you sure you haven't bypassed the FX in the preview?

Have you tried adjusting the high/low threshold sliders in the chroma key effect after you have selected the color with the medicine dropper?

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

YES!!!!!!!! I'M LOSING MY MIND! IF I DON'T FIND A SOLUTION I WILL DELETE VEGAS AND NEVER INSTALL IT AGAIN BECAUSE 97% OF WHAT I HAD IN MIND FOR THIS CLIP AND THE FUTURE CLIPS WAS USING GREEN SCREEN!!!!!!!!

OldSmoke wrote on 8/15/2017, 10:05 AM

Can you see changes from other FX in the preview window? What kind of graphic card and driver do you have installed? Can you record a short video of what you are doing so we can see that too?

We are all here to help, there is no need to scream.

Edit: If the Chroma Keyer FX doesn't work for you, try the Secondary Color Corrector by selecting the green background with the eyedropper and the set the Alpha to 0.

I love how the guy is getting mad at Vegas and the forum, and yet posts no screenshots or video capture of his problem. There is no info about his hardware rig, driver versions, or media info, or camera to timeline workflow.

lol

You know, its probably something you're not doing right and deleting Vegas won't fix your error. Its probably something really simple you're missing. But if all you're going to say is "It just doesn't work! It just doesn't work!" and get huffy at people that are trying to help you then best of luck my friend. One of my first posts here over a decade ago was about not getting the green screen to work right. And it was my error. And it was something really simple.
